Claymore = Awesome

I got my weekly dose of Claymore the anime on Wednesday with episode 18. I first fell in love with this series via the US release of the manga, and when I first heard of the anime adaption back in November of last year, I was totally stoked as this series is a genius work. The anime has since passed the US release of the manga (volume 9 just came out, but the anime is now just now getting into volume 10), but that won't stop me from watching this awesome anime. I'm just worried that it won't end well, since it's quickly running out of manga material (currently 12 volumes in Japan and it's still ongoing). It's been faithfully following the manga thus far, so I'm worried that it will divert and have it's own ending, or perhaps an editing in the same vein as Berserk (man, I hated how Berserk ended). All the same, I'll at least still have the manga to continue reading once the anime ends. Anyone who likes the shonen genre anime should definitely check this series out. Not only are many of the girls in this series quite attractive, they're all absolutely kick-ass fighters to boot.

Screen capture from episode one featuring the main character, Clare (L):

Damn you, Sunrise!

So, after months of waiting, I finally was able to watch the finale of the 1st season of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. I was worried that these episodes would be overhyped and would end up being a disappointment after waiting for so long, but boy was I wrong. These episodes totally delivered big time. I don't think the first season could have been ended any better, except for the fact that it ended on the worst possible cliffhanger imaginable! When the credits began to roll, I was totally stunned and also angry that the first season had to end that way. Especially since it hasn't been announced yet when the second season will air in Japan. I sure hope the second season comes soon because it's going be torture waiting to see what happens next. It was already bad enough waiting months after the cliffhanger (although not as bad as episode 25) that ended episode 23. So again I say, "Damn, you Sunrise!" >_<
